OCEA Meeting Minutes – 2/17/26

Meeting called to order: By Ahren Fox at 1730, Second by Richard Miller
Treasurer Report:
· Planning to keep a higher balance in checking account moving forward to keep us from drawing the balance too far down.
· Depending what members prefer for this year we can do gift cards again or a Christmas party
Activity Report:
· OCEA Board is planning to meet with HR on 2/23/26. HR should give information that we can use to assist in building our upcoming contract.
· We have another OCEA meeting in March to finalize our initial proposed contract
Employee Relations Report: None

Stewards Report:
· Looking into city requirements for how far in advance you must request time off when using floating holiday hours
Old Business / New Business: None
Open discussion:
· Contract Negotiations
o City revenue projections for the upcoming years show a surplus in funds
o It is likely that we aim for a 2-year contract
o Library brought up adding bilingual pay for part time employees
o Wastewater Operators brought up increase in Grade 3 salary pay
o Fleet department has submitted paperwork for salary comparison
o Code enforcement brought up certification pay
· Other contract negotiation requests included:
o Increase in pay
o Increase in night shift differential
o Increase in city medical contribution
o Adding ROTH IRA to our retirement plan
