Dear City of Oceanside Teamster Members,
A miscommunication among the OCEA Board members as to the voting process caused a considerable number of votes cast for the officer election of November 7, 2023, from being included in the final vote tabulation. Consequently, the Board has declared the election results null and void, and OCEA will have a new election on December 20th as to allow all members the opportunity to cast a ballot and have their votes counted. A board member will be at the main voting location at the SLR – Jim Turner Room between 4:30 and 5:30pm. There will be three additional voting sites: stewards Nate Hoffman will be present at the COC (during business hours); Mike Heiser will be at the SLR (12:30-1:30pm), and; Mario Corral will be at the Civic Center (during business hours). This will ensure fair and equitable access to the voting process for members who are unable travel to only one location. Votes will be counted at the SLR – Jim Turner Room at 5:30pm.
