Meeting Minutes – April 18, 2017

Meeting called to order: By Mike Heiser at 5:18 p.m.
Motion was made to accept the February Minutes by Bryan Stubbert & Seconded by Chris Schuchardt
Treasurer Report:
in May OCEA dues will be increased
Activity Report: none
Employee Relations:
If an employee does something on accident, please tell someone, and don’t try to lie or cover it up. The City is forgiving, but if there is something less than truthfulness about an issue, they will be terminated.
City is concerned with PERS and the price of PERS going up.
Stewards Report: none

New Business:
OCEA Board met with the City for the first negotiation meetings. Chester and Ray, Teamster 911 representatives represented us well. The initial impressions were as to be expected, we talked about negotiation ground rules, and presented our contract. The City does not meet with Council until May 5, we will meet with them on May 16. then again May 23, with a goal of negotiations to be done before June, because Council goes dark in July, but if we need to continue negations past June we will.
