Catastrophic Leave

Just a reminder that there is an easy way to donate time to your Oceanside City co-workers, and no money is exchanged.  When an employee has to take extended time off, they are able to receive Catastrophic Leave, this leave comes from co-workers who donate their Vacation or Comp time to the co-worker in need.  Here is the Catastrophic Leave Bank form, you can also find it on the  iDrive.

Right now there is a new Leave Bank set up for:

Jan DesRosiers

A couple of points about Catastrophic Leave:

Catastrophic Leave needs to be approved by HR, and Catastrophic Leave Bank form needs to be filled out completely
when you donate time, it is at your pay level. If you get paid $20/ hr and you donate it to someone who makes $10/hr, they are getting 2x as much as you are giving!
Employee’s may only donate from accrued vacation, holiday or compensatory time (no sick time).
Employees may donate a minimum of four (4) hours to a maximum of forty (40) hours per individual.
Donating employee’s leave balances must remain at eighty (80) hours or more after the donation is made.

Also their is a meeting next week!  We will post the Agenda later this week, we just wanted to make sure that everyone marks their calendars for July 18.  This is the first meeting where we will be talking about upcoming City Council elections, and we want you there!
