Good morning all,
Please take the time to read the “Contra Costa Times” article link below outlining the pension reform ballot measure that former San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and former SD councilman Carl DeMio are promoting for next’s years 2016 election cycle. Please make it clear to co-workers, friends and family this ballot measure will negatively impact current public employees’ pension formula’s and accrual rates by removing the current pension protections in bedded in the California State Constitution which protects current public employees pensions from being reduced. State Attorney General Pamela Harris has weighed in on the proposed language in the ballot measure for a second time and finds that Reed and DeMaio are once again miss-leading the voting public on their so called future employee pension reform measure. The measure is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, it’s trying to trick the voting public into thinking they are voting to address future employees public sector pensions, all of you need to start now getting the message out to vote against this ballot measure if it does in fact qualify for the ballot in Nov. 2016, if this ballot measure should pass it is a given that your pension accrual rate and pension formulas will be negatively impacted by reducing accrual rates for current employees in the public sector, thanks Chet
Borenstein: Attorney General Kamala Harris is right about Chuck Reed’s latest pension initiative — Former San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed claims his latest pension reform initiative would not reduce the future benefits of current public employees. Attorney General Kamala Harris says it could — and she’s right.
